J.Cole Takes Aim At Kendrick Lamar, Future and Metro Announce New Album, and Our Weekly Spotify List

Family and Friends. We hope you enjoyed the first week of April. This week's edition of The Week According 2 Hip Hop jumps right into the biggest story of the year, with J. Cole dropping his surprise project ‘Might Delete Later’ on the eve of his annual Dreamville Fest in Raleigh, North Carolina. With multiple lyrical shots fired at Kendrick Lamar, the Hip Hop community is abuzz with perspectives on the brewing battle of ‘Big 3’ rap supremacy, anticipating when and if Lamar will respond.
Meanwhile Metro Boomin and Future have announced another album ‘We Still Don’t Trust You’ dropping later this month. And in sad news, Rap Genius co-founder Mahbod Moghadam has died rocking the tech startup world.

“Might Delete Later” serves as the appropriate musical ‘movie trailer’ for the upcoming ‘Fall Off’ the album which Cole described is ‘Jay dropping Reasonable Doubt’ last. It’s both a warning shot and coronation, a 40-yard dash at the combine and a marathon. The result is definitively a Victory.
Future and Metro Boomin Announce New Album ‘We Still Don’t Trust You’
The album is set to release on April 12.
The American internet entrepreneur best known for co-founding Genius, originally called Rap Genius passed away last month at the age of 41. Mahbod also served as Chief Community Officer a Everpedia. A music lover, Mahbod made inroads into the Hip Hop community via his work at Genius. His last known interview was conducted by our very own Mike D. A2HH expresses our condolences to his friends and family. We hope the tech community continues his work to make the Internet open.
