ACCORDING 2 HIP HOP

Family and Friends. As we enter a new week, we hope this finds you well! Hip Hop, the soundtrack to our lives continues to permeate culture, driving trends, building bridges, and sometimes exposing hard truths. In this edition of ‘The Week According 2 Hip Hop’ ,we explore Ye’s (formerly Kanye West) pointed podcast interview, directing critiques toward Drake and J. Cole. Gucci Mane releases a new track, "TakeDat” (No Diddy). Furthermore, veteran artists Pete Rock and Common collaborate on a fresh single, demonstrating the enduring power of established legends 30 plus years in the game. We also dive into the reported tension between Chris Brown and Quavo. Lastly, calling all producers!! We launched our Beat 4 Beat Contest in partnership with American Songwriter.
Also as we do each week we've curated a fresh Spotify playlist to capture the Hip Hop that is resonating with us as we go into another week.
This is the Week According 2 Hip Hop.

Common and Pete Rock, two legends of Hip Hop, have joined forces for what many in the community are buzzing will be a legendary collaboration album.

In a world where it seems to be a 20 v 1 against Drake, with rappers such as Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, ASAP Rocky, Ye, and others aiming at the ‘6 God’, could the biggest feud in Hip Hop be in the hands of an R&B singer?

According 2 Hip-Hop (A2HH) and American Songwriter have joined forces to host a revolutionary producer contest, aptly named “Beat 4 Beat.” This unprecedented competition aims to unearth the next generation of music production talent while offering them a platform to showcase their skills to a panel of industry titans.
Check out the latest podcast episodes of “Mic Check”. This week the crew reviewed and ranked all 17 solo albums from Nas. Tune in every Monday and Wednesday on YouTube, IG Live, FB, Twitch, Rumble, and other streaming platforms. Don’t forget to hit like and subscribe!
